Oregon Shakespeare Festival
Ashland’s Population is approximately 21,000 people and is the Home of Southern Oregon University and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The festival annually produces eleven plays on three stages during a season that lasts from February to October. Approximately half of the plays produced each year are by William Shakespeare. These are important to Ashland’s economy, which also depends on restaurants, galleries, and retail stores that cater to playgoers and other visitors.
